Heliconia Amazon River Lodge 03Days / 02 Nights
Day 1
IQUITOS - Heliconia Amazon River Lodge (A, C)
Arrival and welcome in the stand of Amazon River Expeditions, located inside the Iquitos International Airport. Transfer to our operations office located in the city and service orientation. A start time will board a speedboat to take our journey down the Amazon River to the jungle Yanamono. During this trip of approximately 1 hour 15 minutes can observe the confluence of the Amazon River with the Nanay River and will enjoy the impressive jungle landscape and the rustic small houses of the riverside towns. Visit a native community where we will have opportunity to share with them their customs, dances and crafts. Arrival at the Lodge and a complimentary jungle drink. Lunch. After a short break, we begin a walk in primary forest Communal Reserve Yanamono for approximately 2 hours accompanied by expert guides and where we can identify botanical species like heliconias, medicinal plants and giant trees as the kapok. Return to the lodge and rest. After observing the Amazonia Sunset, we will take a night boat ride to a stream, (if the river is high enough) or along the Amazon River, to enjoy the magical sounds of the jungle and observe moonlight the constellations. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2
BIRD WATCHING - FISHING CRAFT (D, A, C)
At dawn, we began the birding tour by the Quebrada Caceres or similar (if the high water) where we see species like the Tuki, Kingfisher, Coto Hawk or hawk of black neck, etc. Return the Lodge where we expect a hearty breakfast. Excursion throughout the morning on the Amazon River and its creeks in search of pink dolphins (Inia Geoffrensis) and artisanal fishing tours where the most experienced fishermen will feel the emotion to fish piranhas and other varieties In the afternoon fish;.. see the very impressive giant Victoria Regia (water lilies) in the lakes located inside Yanamono Island (if the water permits) At night the adventurers can take a hike of . around the lodge to search and observe tarantulas, fireflies and other nocturnal species of our Amazonian Overnight.
Day 3
IQUITOS - OUT (D, A)
After breakfast, visit to an artisan press where you can taste the different drinks made with the juice of the sugar cane. Return to the lodge. Lunch. Transfer to the city of Iquitos and / or to the airport board the flight back to Lima.
